After losing the general election in 1990, the process started by the 1979 Sandinista Revolution against the Somoza dictatorship was stopped in its tracks, and with it faded the dreams, desires, and hopes of hundreds of thousands of citizens who participated in that tranformative process. Sergio Ramírez, member of the revolutionary leadership and vice president along with Daniel Ortega, was an extraordinary witness of a utopia that extended beyond the Nicaraguan border.

Goodbye, Fellows is the memory of a generation who fought for the ideals of common rebellion, and who, even if they could not see all of their objectives for justice, riches, and development come true, feel pride for having brought democracy to their country, Nicaragua, when ideologies seemed to dissipate.
